A direct link link occurs when someone embeds content from your website on another site using your bandwidth to serve the files. You can use this interface to prevent this inconvenience.
Grades:
When you disable direct links, make sure you allow direct links for necessary domains. For example, your website subdomains and the URL they use to access the CPanel account.
If the URL you use to access the CPanel account does not appear in the List of URLs you wish to allow access to, you may not see embedded images in the HTML Editor in the File Manager interface (Home >> Files >> FileManager).
How to enable direct link protection?
1. Log in to cPanel and click on "Direct Link Protection" under the "Security" section.
2. Make sure the domain name you want to protect is in the box labeled "URL to allow access" and click Enable.
To allow specific sites to have direct links to your site, add their URLs to the List of URLs you want to allow access to.
To block direct access to files of specific types, add those file extensions to the Block shortcut to the extension list below.
For example, to block all .jpgs to the Blocker shortcut for the following list of extensions.
When you block those types of extensions others cannot directly link to those types of files from your website, regardless of any other settings.
3.To allow visitors to specific content via URL, select the Allow direct request option.
For example, if you want to enable this option, a visitor can enter http://www.example.com/folder/example.jpg as the URL to access the file example.jpg
4. To allow visitors to access certain content, enter the URL to which you want to redirect your visitor in the Redirect the request to the following URL text box.
5. Click Send.
Disable direct link protection.
To disable the protection, click Disable.
Note:
When you click Disable, the system removes the entries in the List of URLs you wish to allow access to from the list. We strongly recommend that you save the list locally before disabling direct link protection.
