Addon Domains

The additional domains feature included in Cpanel, allows you to point other domains to your hosting plan, so you can develop several websites using the same hosting, or point several domains to the same website.

The number of additional domains allowed depends on the hosting plan you have contracted.

How to add an additional domain?

To enter the Cpanel interface, go to the Domains section, and click on "Additional Domains":

Type the domain for the new additional domain in the New Domain Name field. In the Root Directory field, type the directory that will contain the files for the additional domain.

Click on "Add Domain".

Note: When you type the domain name, cPanel automatically populates the Subdomain/Ftp User text field. If you want to create multiple additional domains with similar domain names (differing only in .com, .net, etc.), be sure to manually type a unique username in the Subdomain/Ftp User text field.

Type the password for the additional domain in the Password field. Confirm the password in the Password field (Again).

Make sure you have a strong password.

You can use cPanel to generate a strong password with the Password Generator feature.

Note: When you create an additional domain in the cPanel interface, cPanel automatically creates a subdomain. If you change or delete the subdomain after creating it, it may affect or delete the information displayed on the add-on domain's website.

To add files to the home directory of the add-on domain, visit the file manager.

Note: To access the home directory of this add-on domain with the file manager, click the link under the Root Directory heading.

Web statistics for the add-on domain are available under the subdomain URL in the statistics application.

IMPORTANT:

When adding an additional domain, you must update its DNS records to resolve to the server you are configuring.

If your domain was not registered at clickpanda, you can create or modify the type A record from the current registrar's DNS zone and point it to the server's IP, which corresponds to the type A record of the main domain of your plan.

If your domain was registered at clickpanda, you can enter our DNS manager and add a type A record pointing to the server IP, following the instructions in this article.

Remember that each domain must have only one type A record for the correct functioning of the website.
