MySQL Database Wizard

This wizard guides you through the setup of a MySQL® database, user accounts, and user privileges. We recommend that you use this wizard to create your first database and user.

To create additional databases or users, you can also use the MySQL Databases interface, then click on  "MySQL® Database Wizard":

Set up a database

To set up a database, perform the following steps:

  1. In the New Database text box, enter a name for the database and click Next Step.

2. Click on Next step.

3. In the User name text field, type a name for the user who has permission to manage the database.

4. In the Password text field, type the user's password. The password must contain seven letters or less.

To generate a strong password, click the Password Generator button.

1. Type the password again in the Password field (again).

2. Click on Create user.

3. Select the privileges you want to grant the user or select ALL PRIVILEGES.

4. Click Next step.

On the next screen, cPanel will display a message indicating that the database and user account were successfully configured. Select one of the following three options:

Add another database - Returns you to the beginning of the MySQL Database Wizard.

Add another user for your PostgreSQL database - Opens the MySQL Databases page, where you can create additional user accounts and assign them to a database. Return to home.

Note:

When you add a user and a database with the MySQL Database Wizard, the user automatically receives access to the database. It is not necessary to use the Add user to database function.
