Widgets
Widget is a luxurious word that basically refers to content that you can add, organize and remove from the sidebar of your Blog. Widgets make it easy to customize the contents of sidebars. If you do not see your sidebar you may need to add at least one widget.
To add a widget see the video at the end of the article for a quick overview of how it works.
Add and Configure Widgets
To add a widget, go to your left side menu, click on "Appearances". In the panel, click on Add a Widget. The customizer will display all the available widgets you can add.
When you finish updating those fields, click Close at the bottom of the widget box. You can also reopen and update a widget using the small down arrow, or delete it by clicking Delete.
You can reorder these widgets panels as well - hold the cursor over one and click to select it and move it up or down, depending on where you want it to appear. After making these changes, remember to save it and click on the blue Save & Publish button at the top of the panel.
Widget Visibility
Widgets can be configured to appear only on certain pages (or hidden on certain pages) by clicking on the Visibility button.
Visibility is controlled by six aspects: the type of page, category, tag, date, author and taxonomy. For example, if you want the archive widget to appear only in the archive category and error pages, choose "Show" from the first drop-down and then add two rules "Pages is 404 Error Page" and "Category is All Pages of categories ".
You can also hide widgets based on the current page. For example, if you do not want the archive widget to appear in the results of the pages, choose "Hide" and "Page is search results".
Each visibility rule is handled separately. There is no way, for example, to display a widget in posts categorized as "Summer" and also tagged with "Picnic".
Delete Widgets
If you want to remove a widget from a sidebar, click on the "Delete" link in the configuration options as shown below.
Accessibility mode

Troubleshooting
Why are sidebar elements shown in my blog that are not listed inside my widgets?
Some old themes offer a set of sidebar elements. For example, the Nuntius Theme offers a search bar and list of files as default for sidebar elements. You will see that when you go to My Sites → Customize → Widgetsthese items will NOT appear inside your current Widgets. To remove these items from the sidebar go to My Sites → Customize → Widgets and add one or more widgets to the widgets area. This will replace all the sidebar elements with loc widgets you choose.
