Customizer

You can use the Customizer to preview and modify various appearance settings of your site.

You can access the customizer from any page or post on your site: just go to the action bar at the bottom left of the screen, click on "Appearance", and select "Personalize".

When you preview another theme you can also change other features and then decide when to get it (clicking Save & Activate) or cancel them (clicking Cancel)

At the bottom of the customizer, 3 buttons let you simulate how your site will look with 3 common devices sizes: Desktop, Tablet and Smartphone, so you can see your design and see if it works well across all sizes. You can also hide the customizer to see the simulation completely.

The available options in Customizing vary per theme, but most of these have these controls in the Customizer.

Identity of the site - Edit the title and the motto, and place your logo (in themes that support logos).

Header Image - Add a new header image or choose from images that you have already uploaded.

Menus - Add, delete or modify the custom menus http://support.wordpress.com/menus/to use them in your site and choose the menu locations according to the theme.

Widgets - Adds, removes or modifies the widgets in the areas designated for widgets in the theme.

Static Home Page - Choose anyone to display as an initial static homepage https: //en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ or your latest blogs on your site's static page.

Featured Content - Customize which label is used by your featured content (such as slideshow posts) if the theme supports it.

Some options in the Custom require WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plans. If you have bought one of these plans you can use the Custom Design https: //en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/ which gives you full access to the colors and custom fonts and the CSS editor.

Colors and backgrounds https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-colors/- Change the entire color of the theme with a few clicks. (Note: custom background color: //en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-backgrounds/ is free, does not require Premium or Business plans).

Sources https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-fonts/- Select from a list the sources for headings and body text (Note: While others require Premium or Business plans, we also offer a selection of fonts free for you to choose).

CSS https: //en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/ - Access the CSS editor to make advanced appearance changes, including support for LESS and Sass preprocessors.

When you are done with the changes made in the Customizer, be sure to select Save & Post if you want to save your new changes, or simply close the Customizer (with the X at the top of the panel) to ignore all changes.
